E3 2017 wrapped on June 15th and this episode focuses on the Microsoft and Bethesda press events. Microsoft showed off the brand new Xbox One X (previously known as Scorpio) and it’s insane native 4K and 60 FPS capabilities. Book-ending the 4K demonstration were Forza Motorsport 7 and Anthem, respectively, which both look to take advantage of the console’s power. Along with that, they also announced a staggering 44 games, 20 of which are exclusives.
Bethesda announced a few games that will foray into the VR world in Fallout 4 VR, and DOOM VFR. They blindsided us with the insanely fun looking Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus in a trailer that was near 10 minutes long. Skyrim gets a port to Nintendo Switch, Morrowind coming to Elder Scrolls Online and more.
What’s Inside
- Microsoft E3 2017: Microsoft came to E3 this year ready to play. Starting with the long anticipated Xbox One X (previously Project Scorpio) finally being announced and sporting native 4K resolution at 60 FPS. Luckily we will not have to wait long as it is set to come out on Nov. 7th 2017 for $499 US, £449 UK. To first demonstrate it’s power the showed Forza Motorsport 7, with graphics so good it was almost hard to tell it wasn’t real. They then followed that by showing an avalanche of 44 games, 20 of which are exclusives (list below). They then ended on an extremely high note, demoing the newly announced Bioware IP Anthem, which showed some mouth-watering graphics and gameplay.
- Bethesda E3 2017: Bethesda showed off many popular games, but started off with two entries into the VR world, Fallout VR and DOOM VFR. Any fan of Fallout is more than happy to see another way to immerse themselves in that incredible universe; while DOOM fans get an equally immersive but much more frightening experience. And, finally, the surprising announcement of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, which takes place in an extremely interesting looking Nazi occupied America.
